What is Local Kidz Stuff?
Local Kidz Stuff is a parent’s LOCAL resource for events, places, and services that
cater to children. Our goal is to provide accurate localized information that parents
and grandparents can use to do more with their kids and to find the services that they
need for their kids. We want to make your life easier and help you make more informed
to make better decisions regarding who you do business with.
Local Kidz Stuff provides answers to:
- "What is there to do today or this weekend?"
- "How can I find and then choose the right pediatrician close to the house or the office?"
- "The kid’s grandparents are in for a visit. Where can they take the kids for some quality time together?"
The site was born from the founder, Colin Mason, having these same questions. Colin's
father-in-law was visiting from out-of-state to spend time with his granddaughter who was 2
years old at the time. He asked, "OK, now that I'm here, where can we go? What can we do?"
Colin’s answer: "I have no idea". A quick web search didn’t help any, so he decided to take
matters into his own hands and started work on Local Kidz Stuff.
What makes Local Kidz Stuff different?
There are many other sites that have business listings and events and some even focus on
parents like we do, so what makes us different?
- Clean, uncluttered interface. Many other sites give you a headache when you spend more than a
few minutes on them. Everything on the page is trying to get your attention and you end up getting
lost and confused. We vow to keep our sites clean and clutter free to so you will have a more positive
experience and find what you need faster.
- Listings and events are free: No one will ever have to pay to have their event or their
business listed on Local Kidz Stuff. Most online directories only list paying businesses.
To us, that invalidates the list. With other sites, you’re only seeing a small sub-set of
businesses; those that chose to or can afford to or wish to pay for their listing. Local Kidz Stuff
provides you with ALL the information. Other directories will even charge a business or event a
fee for including their website address! That’s crazy talk!
- We help you make better decisions. Our rating system and user-generated comments provide
parents with invaluable knowledge about a business or place much like a friend’s testimonial.
Without this, you might as well open a phone book, close your eyes, and point to a business to
select them.
- Integrated maps. We've integrated with what we think is the best mapping solution available
today: Google Maps. When you click a category, you’re not only presented with a beautiful display
of listings in that category, but also a map with each listing plotted on the map. This lets you
see where they all are in relation to you or each other.
- Constantly evolving. We’re never happy! Our mission is to continually improve the website
by adding new features on a regular basis. If you have a suggestion, please send us a note

some cool new features in the works to make it even better.
